Profiles 2000 On Schedule for Spring Release
By Janet Johnson
Informational Representative, Office of Accountability
October 31, 2000

The popular School Report Cards and Profiles series of reports for the 1999-2000 school year are scheduled to be released in May 2001. The Office of Accountability Executive Director, Robert Buswell, said, “Data from other agencies is beginning to arrive and we are in the preliminary stages of producing the documents.”

The Office of Accountability collaborates with numerous organizations to provide more than 140 educational statistics on the nearly 1,800 school sites across Oklahoma each year. The Department of Career and Technical Education, Office of Juvenile Affairs, The College Board, State Department of Education and Regents for Higher Education are a few of the participants.

Buswell also noted that there will be several format changes to the reports as a result of the revised Oklahoma Testing Program. “The general layout of the reports will be familiar, but we have had to make some adjustments for information that will no longer be available.”

In addition, the Office of Accountability is considering including several new items on the reports. Reading sufficiency statistics may be provided under the “Community Characteristics” sections of the School Report Cards and Profiles: District Report. Historical testing data by graduating class and questions for involved parents to ask are other possibilities the Education Oversight Board has been asked to consider.

Profiles is the fulfillment of the reporting requirement of the Oklahoma Educational Indicators Program and is published annually by the Office of Accountability under the direction of the Education Oversight Board. Copies of the new reports will be available for viewing and printing on this website. Free paper copies can also be reserved by contacting the Office of Accountability at (405) 522-4578 or Email contact@ed-stats.state.ok.us.
