Order and Roll Call: Mr. Churchwell called the meeting to order and declared a quorum
present. |
| Approval
of Minutes: Minutes of the March 21, 2001 meeting were approved as submitted. |
| Report
of FY 2001 Year-to-Date Expenditures: Report distributed to board members. |
Progress
Report on Profiles 2000 Project: Publication Covers and Promotional Items -
Examples of the finalized Profiles 2000 poster, flyer, and District Report cover and
binder were presented to the board.
Printing - Mr. Buswell reported that the District Report and State Report were
currently being printed. He also said the Office of Accountability remains on schedule and
a large portion of the publications should be distributed in early May.
State Report Review - Mr. Hesser provided finalized copies of the State Report
to the board. Additions for the 2000 publication include an updated community grouping
model, debt service maps, state and national dropout rate comparisons, and a short
history of the Oklahoma State Testing Program.
Press Release - Mr. Buswell requested input from the board as to what should be
the focus of the upcoming press release. Suggestions included the updated community
grouping model, ACT results, 70% Performance Benchmark results, and high school attrition
by race and gender. |
| Report
on OBEC Activities: Dr. Coppedge reported to the board that Achieve, Inc. has been
chosen to evaluate standards and testing and monitor accountability in Oklahoma. The state’s
participation is a combined effort of the State Department of Education, State Regents for
Higher Education and OBEC. The results should be released in four to eight months. |
